Need suggestion for API or code to post Activities, Photos, Videos, Status and chat.

My web page needs an API or code for each individual user to post Activities, Photos, Videos, Status in only part of their profile page. We considered using Facebook’s API but we would like users to have more control over how this criteria is displayed. We are using PHP CodeIgnitor.

Also any recommendations to have a small window for real time chat?
