Webmail or POP Server

I want to be able to offer webmail to my club members. I have seen the shared hosting options such as [url]www.i-p.com[/url] but would prefer to offer something myself.

I have webspace on a Windows2000 server but do not know how to operate an email service from this. I do not mind either webmail or POP mail.

Do any of you have any suggestions on how to start offering email services??

If you have a Windows Server it's a great app, very solid and most other mail servers for windows will do what they can to break your bank.

As I am not hosting the site myself, where in my webspace do i run the mailserver from??

When I FTP into my webspace, I have a "Databases" directory for my database of members, a "Logs" directory and a "www" directoy where my actual webpage goes.

Can I run this mail program from here or would i have to use my PC as the mailserver connected to the net 24/7??

@Compguy_PeteMar 04.2004 — IF your using another provider to host the website then in 99.9% of the cases they provide Mail with your domain account.

@littleyellowcarauthorMar 04.2004 — They do provide an email facility that i can set up for people, but i want to be running something along the likes of Hotmail for my club members where they can set up the mail account themselves.

Do you think this is going to be impossible to run with my current setup??
