Javascipt Cross Platform INcompatibility and solutions?

Greetings!

I seem to have some problems with cross platform compatibility. This link

works on a PC in IE6, NS7, and Mac IE 5.2, Safari 1.2 (v125) and NS 7.1.

However, when I embed it in another page

it fails to work in any browser but IE 6 on the PC, I lose all dynamic menus….that is, the side menus fail to show.

I have no other JavaScript going on in the page, so I don’t know what could be causing the problem Since this page will eventually be a Cold Fusion page, I attempted to code the sitemap.html into a CFM page, with nothing ut the javascript code on the page, and then call that page from a modified index.cfm page. This gave me the same result as the second link (index.html). Ultimately, the menu only works when it is alone and not embedded in a page or called via a <CFINCLUDE TEMPLATE> tag.

After running the code through some browser checks, it seems the onMouseOver and onMouseOut command within a td tag is not supported in NS 6, etc.

I have spent hours pouring over the code to no avail. What could be in the second page code (index.htm) that would be preventing the JavaScript code from working (in any other browser but IE6 / PC) once embeded in another page?
