Call asp function within javascript block and parse java script variable as parameter

I need to call function in asp within a java script code block. The asp funtion requires 1 parameter to be parsed as a javascript variable, but I’m having ptoblem making it work. When I give direct numbers to the function it works, but as soon as I replace the direct number with a javascript variable stops working.

Example

var sche_no = 2;
textmsg.value = <%=getschedata(sche_no,1)%>
