sumbit variables to a txt file

would it be possible to submit a variable to a .txt file?
if so how?

@David_HarrisonFeb 23.2004 — JavaScript can interact with only four different types of files, they are external style sheets, html documents, cookies and external JavaScript files.

The only way that JavaScript can store information is in a cookie on the clients computer. The cookie on the clients computer cannot be accessed by you or the server.

If you are looking for a counter script or anything like that then you will have to use a server-side language.

So in answer to your original question, no.
