detecting left and bottom bars movement

Hi,

I want to know how many pixels the user moved the left and bottom bars.
How could this be done?

Thanks

@PittimannFeb 23.2004 — Hi!

For IE users, you can use the onscroll event. Example:

<body onscroll="window.status='top: '+document.body.scrollTop+' - left: '+document.body.scrollLeft">

If you want something similar for other browsers, you will have to use a "valid" event, on which you have the values displayed (like here: in the status bar) or assigned to a variable...

Cheers - Pit

yes, try document.body.onclick event, assuming that user will use the bar to scroll or/and document.body.onmousewheel if you presume he will use the mouse's wheel

Success!
