Best language/idea for this website ? (noob).

I’m wondering what the best route would be to create a website I have in mind.

Basically, I want to create a physiognomy website where we many people can post gif images and compare them. I want it to be in a unique format though, I don’t really want it to be a forum. I want to make a sort of wiki or reddit like website or something like that If that makes.

I know some C++, but had a hard time learning it (I was learning about classes when I stopped). Would you guys suggest any languages for this or something that doesn’t involve programming ?

@jedaisoulAug 29.2013 — If you doubt your programming skills are up to it, then a CMS (content management system) might be the answer, but I cannot recommend any specific one.

In terms of writing the site from scratch, it seems to me that the pages would need to be dynamic, which suggests that PHP might be the language to use.

@NogDogAug 29.2013 — Take a look at http://www.opensourcecms.com/ for some open-source options for various types of CMS's, wikis, and so forth. Maybe one of them gives most/all of the features you need?
