window.opener issue

Hey Experts,

i have the following problem with my javascript.
I open a popup besides my existing window where the user can choose a date from a calendar.
By clicking on a specific date the date will be written in a form in the other window (the opener).

When the user now moves in the popup window back and forth, like changing the month, the function:

window.opener.document

won`t work anymore, the opener value got lost or overwritten by the reloading popup window

any ideas how can i solve this problem or work around?
