How can I make fancy effects using jQuery or JavaScript?

I was browsing through the web when I found a [URL=”http://www.mangore.com/”]website[/URL] with a cool image slider and really good fading effects. Are there some kind of built in functions for fading and cross image effects in jQuery or are all there custom built?
