@rtretheweyMay 26.2013 — The search engines have a form for webmasters to submit the URLs of pages they would like to have included. These forms have limited effect and do not mean that your pages will be included in the search engines' database (index).

The best way to get your site included in the search engines is to get other good quality websites to link to yours. So ask your friends to post a link to your site on their sites. Good luck!

@Steve_SmithMay 27.2013 — Search engine submission is how a webmaster submits a web site directly to a search engine. While Search Engine Submission is often seen as a way to promote a web site, it generally is not necessary. Because the major search engines like Google, Yahoo, and Bing use crawlers, bots, and spiders that eventually would find most web sites on the Internet all by themselves.

@HanasonsMay 27.2013 — I would say that you don't have to do search engine submission, your site would automatically be indexed in search engines..... if you do this then you would get some added benefit as well.

There are two basic reasons to submit a web site or web page to a search engine.

The first reason would be to add an entirely new web site because the site operators would rather not wait for a search engine to discover them. The second reason is to have a web page or web site updated in the respective search engin

@frankdevineMay 29.2013 — Search engine submission is the process of notifying search engines of the existence of website content so that they include the site in their indices and search results.

Search engine submission is only necessary if the a site has not been found by the major search engines. Most major search sites frequently revisit already indexed sites to ensure that their search results reflect current content.
