getting browser dimensions

this may be a stupid question, but does anyone know how to get the dimensions for the ENTIRE browser window, not just the body. I can’t seem to figure it out. Thanks

@gil_davisFeb 14.2004 — In Netscape, you can access the window.outerWidth and window.outerHeight. But IE does not expose those values.

You can "back into" the dimensions in IE by moving the window to 0,0 and then using window.screenTop and window.screenLeft to calculate the size of the "chrome". Then add the document.body.offsetWidth, and document.body.offsetHeight you can get close.
