@brad_jonesJan 15.2013 โย #Is there a question here?
A 301 redirect might not increase a site's traffic. In fact, too many could hurt you in the search engines and possibly in site performance. A 301 simply redirects traffic coming to one URL to another. It is generally done when content is moved or a URL changed to avoid a visitor from getting a 404 error if they are directed to the original URL.
@Steve_SmithJan 16.2013 โย #A 301 Redirect advises the client and more importantly, the search engine, that the page has been moved or otherwise can be found under a different name or on a different part of the site, even a different site.

@Zora2012Jan 16.2013 โย #301 redirect is the most efficient and Search Engine Friendly method for webpage redirection. It's not that hard to implement and it should preserve your search engine rankings for that particular page. If you have to change file names or move pages around, it's the safest option. The code "301" is interpreted as "moved permanently".
@pavithrathivaJan 19.2013 โย #The particular web page has been moved to the required destination or location permanently. This is used while redirecting pages in a site. It might be used either for a file, or few pages or a whole site to be redirected. Usually it takes a month or more for 301 sites to be made visible in websites.
@James13Jan 20.2013 โย #301 redirect is also known as the permanent redirection. When there is a change in the site or you need to redirect your customers to the new location. Then we need to use this 301 redirect to tell the search engine crawlers that this page has been permanently removed so please don't crawl this page and always use the new page and it will preserve your search engine rankings for that particular page.
@wilsonwhiteFeb 07.2013 โย #301 Redirection means the website has been permanently moved to a new location and Search engines do not apply penalties to 301 redirects .
@raveenasenFeb 07.2013 โย #A 301 Redirect is a permanent redirect which passes between 90-99% of link juice (ranking power) to the redirected page. 301 refers to the HTTP status codes for this type of redirect. In most instances, the 301 redirect is the best method for implementing redirects on a website.
@smithjohnFeb 07.2013 โย #If you need to change the URL of a page as it is shown in search engine results, we recommended that you use a server-side 301 redirect.
