Mysterious Session Errors

Hi,
I run OnlineComics.net ( [url]http://www.onlinecomics.net[/url] ), which is a PHP/MySQL based site. Recently one of my users emailed me complaining of this error at the top of the page:

Warning: open(/tmp/sess_13ca2e86f9b9b1ace5fdb213ac538d34, O_RDWR) failed: Permission denied (13) in /home/www/onlinecomics/php/incl/start_session.php on line 3

And another on the bottom of the page:

Warning: open(/tmp/sess_13ca2e86f9b9b1ace5fdb213ac538d34, O_RDWR) failed: Permission denied (13) in Unknown on line 0

Warning: Failed to write session data (files). Please verify that the current setting of session.save_path is correct (/tmp) in Unknown on line 0

Line 3 is a call to session_start(). The thing is, I cannot reproduce this error on any of my systems, and no one else has complained of it. I get about 6000 – 7000 user each day, so I think if it was a hugh problem others would have complained. The user in question said it happens only some of the time, not all the time. He’s using IE 6.

I had him clear his cookies thinking it could be a corrupt cookie, but that didn’t resolve it.

I know the errors are happening, because he sent me screen shots. Any ideas? Thanks!

@joroauthorFeb 04.2004 — Thanks for the link to the bug report. It had some useful info. I've tried moving my session folder into the www/ directory to see if that helps. Haven't seen anything funny in the error log yet.
