Ok, Gurus, here’s one I cannot figure out…
I have a “contents” frame on the left, which has a menu that changes the “main” frame on the right.
The “main” frame is another frame with “top” frame and “body” frame. A link in the “body” frame changes the “main” frame (both new “top” page and “body” page are loaded).
Now, I need to update the menu in the original “contents” frame on the left. However, I cannot refer to this frame as the parent.frames[‘contents’] (I get error that parent.frames.contents is null or not an object). If I attempt to refer to parent.frames[0] this refers to the “top” frame (the new parent of the “body” frame).
How can I now target the “contents” frame, which is no longer the parent?
I’m not sure how to make this clear – I’m new to this.. but I’ll try:
frameset1 = frameLeft = “contents” and frameRight = “main”
frameset2 = frameTop = “top” and frameBody = “body”
“main” = frameset2
when a link is clicked in “body” page, I need to update “contents” page.
