beginner question

hi all
Can you please explain what the marked line:

#topWrapper
{
width:100%;
height:200px;
background-color:${topWrapper.bg.color};
background-image:url(images/css/topWrapper-bg.jpg);
background-position:center top ;
background-repeat:repeat-x;
}

I can’t understand the $ sign and the use of topWrapper inside topWrapper definition.

Thanks

@danielshillAug 22.2012 — I believe the dollar symbol refers to the end of a string, although I'm not entirely sure it works in this application.

A good reference to use regarding selectors is the following:

@jedaisoulAug 23.2012 — I do not recognise the syntax, perhaps it is JS or something new in CSS3? Anyway, I'm not sure it is doing much anyway, because of the background image. I'd try commenting it out to see if it makes any difference!!!
