Getting Windows username using javascript

I have inherited a web application written in classic asp. This is not a problem but recently I was asked if I can have users logged on immediately without them doing anything.

The only way I know how to do this is capture their windows logon and use that to log onto the website. I can do this in asp.net but not in classic asp.

The code is written in javascript so how do I capture the windows user name and pass it to the database for verification?

Thanks.

@rnd_meAug 16.2012 — you can't do it with .net or classic, thank god. at least, not using a real browser; maybe IE has some security hole behind a scary yellow box...

its a better idea to confirm identities anyway, that way someone bad can't sneak onto someone stupid's machine over lunch and have access to your app.
