PHP Website Created

I am a client vs a developer. I have a question and hope that I am in the right place. I had a website developed almost to completion and the developer disappeared.

The developer used PHP and HTML and perhaps other things. It is a resume creation website. It has a 7 day trial, a basic version and a premium version. Basically the customer enters resume information, the resume information is retained, they can edit the info, print it, email it and post it online.

I was not given the source code. I wanted to know if a new developer were given FTP access, would they have everything that they need to continue, or is the source code required. It looks to me like you can download the pages by FTP. I just want to know where I stand.

Could someone give me an overview of my situation.

Thank you so much for your help ?

@tracknutJul 12.2012 — Generally, PHP *is* source code, so the odds are decent that if you give your new developer access to the server, he will have everything he needs to move forward.

@swisswatchesauthorJul 12.2012 — Hi Tracknut,

Thank you so much for your response. That really makes me feel so much better. I was quite frightened. Thanks again.
