  • 1. layer1 does not exist at the time you are trying to use it. Move the script below the div.


  • 2. style.top needs a string with units, not a number- obj.style.top='400px';


  • 3. You need a position property in most browsers to use top- obj.style.position='absolute' or 'relative'.

    Or set the marginTop, without position.
