Do I Need Unique Content – Press Releases?

Hello Brothers,

I have some doubt regarding Press Release. Do you need unique content for each press release or I can submit one press release to all press release websites?

I heard press releases are good way to get backlinks. And I found people post same press release in different press release sites. But I heard your content has to be unique to get backlinks.

So, I am really confused with this press release uniqueness issue.

Do I need unique press release or one press release for all sites?

Thx in advance.

@aj_nscDec 22.2011 — It means that you shouldn't do a "press release" using content that is available elsewhere. It kind of goes without saying, but a press release is information that is released from you or your company (and is not available anywhere else because it came directly from you or your company) to outlets.

Yes, you submit one press release to all websites at a time.

Right but Google is looking for unique search content and will give a site more credence if the content is not copied from another site. So let me re-phrase the OP - do the search engines have the ability to know that the content on my website is my own creation when others are copying it, I send it out as a press release to several sites that post press releases, or others are linking to my rss feed. How can my blog, for example, have "unique" content if others are streaming it to their sites? Am I shooting myself in the foot by allowing my blog posts to be fed via rss to others?
