Editting an HTML code to include a Javascript code

Hi,

I have a Javascript code to set and retrieve a cookie value. I want to place this code on a webpage so that when that webpage is launched it prompts me to set a name for the cookie and when i access the particular webpage again, it greets me by the cookie name.
I am unable to figure out how to edit the webpage to hold my cookie code so it resides on the server.
A quick help on this is greatly appreciated.
