I’m not sure I’m posting in the correct section. I would like to have a web application (perhaps software) developed, where I will always need a specific kind of websites to be searched.
E.g. I will need to find forums where people discuss the quality of hotels or accomodation whatsoever. I would like the developer to create a database of such sites where the user’s search will be performed. He will for example search for the name of his hotel (Hilton) and the application will go through all sites of this kind and search for this keyword and discussion about it. I wanted to ask if it is possible for the search engine to “sort out” e.g. forums and leave out the company website. And also how difficult is it to develop such a “custom” search engine, meaning if I should expect a highly costly solution.
I also wanted to ask if after searching for certain keywords, is it possible for the application to “categorize” which sites are forums, which are hotel websites, which are travel agencies, etc.?
I am a student working on a school project and to be honest I don’t have almost any background in web/app development. These questions might thus sound very absurd.
