They are very good. You can have a 50 add-on domains on a same account and 50 databases. The only bad thing is that you do not get any email account whatsoever with the free plan. So if you just want to test things there you go.

I don't think they are much use however when it comes to rankings (how many free hosted sites appear in the first few pages of any google search?) but I have used them as somewhere to try out ideas for a site before I bought a top level domain name for it.

Try cheap hosting server rather than free, In this world nothing like Free. But if you are experimenting something and not to love your site then go with any free hosting service provider.

Obviously you are getting a website for free and with many free web hosts today, you don't end up with annoying banner/pop-up/text link ads or other inconveniences related to free hosting in the past. But as for cons, you will have disk space and bandwidth limits usually and have a lower priority in resource usage as well as support.
I think rather than spend time trying to convince you this or that free host is the best, you should review several and decide which has the best package/features for whatever site it is you want/need to host.
