fb:comments-count coming up blank? alternative sugegstion?

Hi guys,

I’m having an odd situation here. I have a site set up that uses fb-comments, and it shows up blank in on the production server (the one which the app actually points to), but gives me 0’s for a development server not listed in the app.

Also, it seems to work in places where there is only one or two counts at a time, but when there are more than, say, 8, all of them show up blank.

I’d appreciate any suggestions. Also, if you would recommend another way of retrieving comment count I’d be open to using that. I tried doing a Facebook API call but I’m not too familiar with the inner workings of it and my $facebook -> api kept coming up NULL and breaking everything.
