Story-submission field with stream

How would I go about creating a stream of user-submitted content? On one side of the site there would be a text box where they can submit a short piece of text, and this would appear in chronological order (newest first) in a box on another side of the page. Similar to fmylife, but much more minimalistic with way less features.

I’ve researched for widgets like this but with no luck. FMyScript seemed promising but it’s loaded with tons of features that I wouldn’t use.

Also, I would be inserting the content-submission field and stream in two separate DIV containers.

Any ideas?

@DracoMerestAug 23.2011 — That is possible with javascript for the client only. It would not be permanent - you need

to write the submitted data to a file on your server. JavaScript cannot do this. Either find

a less complicated 'widget' or visit the friendly people in the PHP or Perl sections of this

forum (or some other relevant technology)

@JimSauceauthorAug 23.2011 — Oh, ok. I'll ask in the PHP section then.
