Hi everyone,

I have made a tool for creating new tags, much like HTML tags:

[url]http://4nf.org/tool/[/url]

As an example, you can write e.g. :

o! [url]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Data_redundancy[/url] Bo

Instead of:

<form action=”><p><input type=’button’ value=’Bo’ onclick=”window.location.href=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Data_redundancy”></p></form>

What do you think of it?

The intent is to promote reuseable code that can be connected like building blocks to create many different web applications. It is not designed to build complex, one of a kind, applications through page scripting.

which is quite a different cup of tea than what I'm doing.

@tracknutJun 14.2011 — I'm not clear on the point, exactly. Yes, it allows me to type less stuff, but now my site is dependent on JS being available on everyone's browser for these tags to work. Yes, in most cases it is available, but I try to build code that is not critically dependent on JS if at all possible.

yes, JS has to be enabled. That is a limitation.

Exactly, the idea is to have more cryptive tags at ones disposal to simplify routine tasks.

Own user-defined tags can be defined in html.txt

(http://4nf.org/html.txt)

What do you think of it otherwise?
