Links bg alignment on Hover

Hi,
I’m just doing the following (demo) site:

[url]http://www.themiddlepath.intelli-tech.net/HairDo/index.html[/url]

My hover (or text) doesn’t seem to be aligned centrally.

Which part fo the CSS do I need to modify?

you gave the objects paddings on left and right side

these paddings differ. therefore the text is not centered there.

if you use the same padding on both sides (20,20 instead of 30,10) it will look like the text is centered
