Image Insertion affects Navbar

Hi there. New to html and css but have started since my boss asked me to monitor our website. I’ve done many things to our website without difficulty but one odd problem i’m having is that when I add images, that elongate the web page, the navigation bar stretched and my pictures, for the links, have space between them as if < br > was placed. They will space out even further depending on how much the page has to stretch to accommodate new images and text. If someone has a html fix please let me know!
