Webstore Stock Alarm

Hello..

I’m pretty new to this, though I’ve always been interested in coding and that kinda stuff.

So, what I’d like to do is the following
-Code some sort of program that checks the website if an item is in stock or not (Maybe through checking the source code of the page, if anything new to a specific line/parameter then an alarm)
-If the program finds that an item has been restocked, it plays a song/sound (MP3) of my choosing.

Is this possible using JavaScript? Any tips and tricks?
