DNS or Cookie?

I moved a domain and changed the nameserver info on December 26. More than a week later, I’m still not able to get to the new server when I enter www.domainname.com. Instead, I’m taken to the old server.

I’ve cleaned out my cache and cookies. I’ve run ipconfig /flushdns from a cmd line. And STILL I see the old domain when I go to the domain name.

Yet WHOIS pings the new server, and GoDaddy tech support swears on a Bible that the domain is fully resolved.

What’s happening here?

I’ve got a MySQL database on both servers–a PHPBB2 message board. Weirdly, I can log in at the old domain, and when I go to the new server using a direct link to the IP address, I’m logged in to the new board when I get there.

Help. ?

@Sux0rZh_jc0rzJan 02.2004 — on the index page of the old domain, have a meta refresh to the new server. that is a temporary fix, then give us the domain name cause i'd like to see if it works for me or if the problem is universal.

@IgnatiusauthorJan 02.2004 — OK, I've created a redirect page on the old server with a direct link to the new server (by server name, not domain name).

What happens when you go to:

www.fullpotofcoffee.com

For me, I get taken to the new server. But when I log in, I'm taken back to the old server.

Go ahead and attempt to log in using this info:

User Name: XZone5

Password: password

if your trying to go to

http://www.domain.com/public_html/whatever

http://www.domain.com/whatever

@IgnatiusauthorJan 03.2004 — Yeah, I didn't think that would work (I knew it wasn't supposed to). It was just a last-ditch attempt to figure out what was going wrong.

Thanks.

Actually, it would be the Y2K+4 bug. Since Y4K is the year 4000

@Klyve1Jan 05.2004 — Try going via a public proxy server and see if it still has problems - try 209.210.176.44:8888

Success!
