for $i<=num_rows or while $i<=num_rows

Im just wondering which format you guys prefer:
// Option 1:
$result = $db->query($query);
$num_rows = $result->num_rows;
for( $i=1; $i<=$num_rows; $i++ ) {
$row = $result->fetch_assoc();
// Do stuff with $row
}
Or
// Option 2:
$result = $db->query($query);
$num_rows = $result->num_rows;
$i = 1;
while( $i<=$num_rows ) {
$row = $result->fetch_assoc();
$i++;
// Do stuff with $row
}
@tirnaMar 26.2011 — as a general rule, if you know the number of iterations then use a FOR loop. If the number of iterations is not known, use a WHILE loop. Your while loop has at least 2 extra lines of code in it.

@NogDogMar 26.2011 — Neither, as with most such fetch operations you don't need to keep count.
$result = $db->query($query);
while($row = $result->fetch_assoc()) {
// Do stuff with $row
}
