CSS get text to not touch sides without indent and such?

I am just wondering how I can get text to not “touch” the sides without a margin. Right now, I have to end all <h#> tags and everything to get the table I want (Goes from table side-to-side 100%) hut the reason I use the <h#> tags is to basiically get the text not to touch the sides of the table. How could I get the the to not touch the sides by giving margins for the main table, h#’s, etc. If it’s not possible, it’s fine. I just really hate it, because it feels like ending all the tags for one table to be interjected is pretty bad and hacking. Oh well, thanks for reading.

@GSZX1337Mar 17.2011 — If I'm understanding your post right, you don't want to have your text at the edge of the table and you've tried using a margin. Have you tried padding?
