Need help with Google Maps API & CMS

Hi everyone, I am planning to implement Google Maps API in my website as follows:

  • 1.

    Users can register and login to add placemarks to the map

  • 2.

    Upon clicking on a placemark, visitors (includding unregistered guests) can view descriptions, pictures, videos and comments specific to that particular placemark

  • 3.

    Visitors can also tweet placemarks and share them on facebook

    • What are tools required to create the map as described above? Is Joomla or any other CMS necessary for creating a user database (and providing the login/logout functionality)?

    Please also recommend me any books that will be relevant to my project.
