Hello, I have an HTML file that utilizes AJAX to call upon an API. I’m trying to make this into an embeddable widget, but I’d need to convert the file into an .swf in order to allow people to embed it.
@GB_001authorMar 11.2011 — #No, that won't work as I am trying to make a constantly updating widget that a user can embed anywhere. If it was say... a forum that allowed BB code it would be nearly impossible to embed it with an Iframe.
Thanks, I'll look into that page, but it looks like it may not support hyperlinks.
@Eye_for_VideoMar 11.2011 — #So does the widget just serve as a link? or is there something inside the widget that does other stuff?
Any actions inside a .swf are pretty much actionscript based, so just "converting an html file" without interacting with actionscript... I don't see how that would work.
If it has to be a .swf, why not do it the right way and create it in Flash?

I'm not a flash developer, so I was trying to see if there as a way to do that without learning actionscript, unfortunately it seems like an unavoidable hurdle. Can you recommend me anywhere that may help me learn actionscript for web development?
