Loading images?

Hi,

I made a simple script a long time ago that loads images and replace the current image on the web page with the loaded image. Now I would like to change this and add som JQuery effects like fade in and fade out, and I’m not sure how to do this and would preciate some help.

This is how I load images today:
document.getElementById(“storbild”).src = path_2 + bild + “.jpg”;

I wonder how to combine JQuery together with the ordinary javascript and use this method to load an image and fade out the old and then fade in the new?
