@iahneFeb 18.2011 — #It's not true. Hosting sites provides you only a space to be accessed via internet. Websites can obtain SEO by its contents, meta tags, titles etc.
@mariomarterMar 10.2011 — #According to me, it is possible to effect because if your hosting is slow it will have some impact on your ranking. But besides host site provides you only a space to be accessed via internet.
@wsdomainMar 11.2011 — #Yes the only way it may affect your SEO is when hosting on a slow server but other than that i can't think of any other way it can affected. Domain name have a higher chance of affected SEO than hosting.
@Anna_HussieApr 05.2011 — #There are many other things which should be mentioned here.Like if your site is for UK then it will have positive impact on your ranking.
I am completely new to SEO. I have seen many people looking for SEO based hosting.
It sounds weird that hosting servers can also effect SEO, is it even true? If yes how?
Thanks[/QUOTE]
It is a misconception and people use these type of terminologies to grab attention towards these type of weird keywords. The purpose of web hosting is to provide you the space to get your website LIVE on internet and that is it. Optimization of a website is totally a different and it cannot be inter-related.
@LiveCityMay 05.2011 — #The host itself does affect SEO, but the effect is negligible. There are dozens of various factors to the rank - quality content is a major part of the total score.
So, almost any negative effect caused by the host could simply be negated by investing time in leading factors.
