Hi

I’m dealing with a little problem here and no one seems to know the right answer. I want google to show my site on the first row, when someone types in the domain name in the search bar(The domain name, not some random search options, like cheese or cutlery). The domain name is unique and doesn’t have any similar counterparts on the internet. Still it doesn’t show up, even as further down as at page 10. Does anyone have an idea how i can fix that. Should I use some sort of meta-tag or is there a different, more efficient solution.

Thanks

Regards

Google does not solely use Meta tags to rank websites. the key is to use between 5-10 keywords found in your description. and have a meta description of 25-35 words. also to have that meta description somewhere on your page also close to the top. google is a tough nut to crack. other search engines like yahoo still use meta rank so the more keywords you have that describe your site the higher they rank you.

@WebJoelFeb 19.2011 — One of the BEST ways is to include the name of your site in the TITLE. This upper-level element is heavily parsed for meaningful description, and factors heavily into SEARCH results.

Avoid use of non-relevant words like "Welcome to my~" or "The Official Home Page of ~" (etc.) If your site is called/is about Glow in the Dark Widgets, be sure to use that in the TITLE and as near the beginning of the sentence as possible (while trying to keep the total number of characters under perhaps just 56 characters...) Including 'white-spaces' this example comes in at under 30 characters, so it is concise and SEO-friendly.

Is the site live? Can we visit it to seek other suggestions?
