AJAX Cross Domain Calls In Java Script

I know that AJAX is a cross of Java Script and XML but the following questions got me stomped I’ve looked around and nothing really seems to give me an answer. Can any one help?

Q. How would you perform a cross domain AJAX call in java script?

@KorFeb 04.2011 — #You need a server-side proxy (written in PHP or ASP, ASP.NET, Java, etc...) call code, as an intermediary. If AJAX+PHP, for instance:
