This thread may need to be moved….

I’m not sure which section this should go in, I guess it is half and half between CSS and HTML.

First off, thanks to coothead for re-writing out my CSS and HTML, so much tidier.

Secondly, I’m still having problems (although not relating to the thread I originally started).

It should be straight forward, I know, but I just seem to be getting muddled up and missing bits out when I try to adapt my latest files into the ones coothead modified for me.

I don’t suppose I could ask for further help from anybody, please?

I have attached the files below that coothead modified/created for me, I just seem to keep messing something up when I try to integrate the files.

Here is my current page without seperate styling sheet, and messy mark up, etc: http://davey-martin.com/backup/

Any help would be hugely appreciated!

Thanks,
Davey.

@cootheadJan 01.2011 —
No problem, you're very welcome. ?
I notice that you have added...

<div id="left_top">Test Block</div>
<div id="left_middle_text">hmmm</div>
<div id="left_bottom"></div>

...to the code, repeating the id's.

As the id attribute is unique, all repeated instances should be changed to the class attribute in the HTML and the CSS.

@Davey_MauthorJan 01.2011 — I'm currently trying to add more blocks to either side of my index page. I can't seem to figure out why there's a huge vertical space between two blocks though?

I know it's something I need to adjust in the main.css but not sure which property I need to look at.

Thanks, I intended to but got totally sidetracked trying to figure out why the big vertical space between two blocks.... will change the ID's to classes now where needed!

@cootheadJan 01.2011 — Hi there Davey_M,

this is the result of repeating the id....

#left_top {
width:141px;
height:20px;
padding:3px 20px 0;
margin:172px auto 0;
background-image:url(../images/side_column_top.png);
}

check out the attachment to see the solution. ?

@Davey_MauthorJan 03.2011 — Thanks coothead. Just in the process of looking over the CSS so I can add more "blocks" to the right hand side as well... I'm determined to pick it up!
