Website flashes white

Hello world!

I dont know if this is the right place to ask but its been 2 weeks of moving everything and not fixing this little detail.

I just finished this site (www.voldenuit.ca), most of it is html/php, and some javascript sprinkled here and there.

I am having a problem that when entering the site for the first time, on every link the site goes white then loads all elements, this seems to only happen in Firefox, and less noticeable in IE, other browsers seem to handle it well.

I dont know if someone could help, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

@tracknutDec 01.2010 — My guess is this, from main.css
<i>
</i>background-color:#EBEBEB;

You might change that to match what you actually want as the background.

@bluepolionauthorDec 01.2010 — Thanks for taking the time to look at it Dave, I just set it to #444444, no change, it still flashes white.

@NogDogDec 01.2010 — Just a thought: maybe move the Google analytics <script> section to the very end of the page body? (Or does it have to be in the <head> for some reason?)

@criterion9Dec 01.2010 — It might be because I'm on a super fast connection, but I'm not seeing white at all.

@bluepolionauthorDec 02.2010 — Many thanks,

Google analytics is at the bottom, they ask for it to be on top for whatever reason but it works just as well at the bottom... what speed internet do you have criterion?

@criterion9Dec 02.2010 — Usually a minimum of 10mb down. ?

@bluepolionauthorDec 02.2010 — Just tested my speed, its 7mb. Also just installed linux on an old laptop, set up a full server, loaded the site there, and although much quicker, still get the flash... such frustration... I love code when it works.

@criterion9Dec 02.2010 — Are you in a different location than your server perhaps? If I was in the USA but my server were in say Australia my site would be slow for me...but not as much for those in Australia.

@bluepolionauthorDec 31.2010 — Sorry for posting so late after. But I found the problem, the flickering in firefox was caused by a too long description and keyword meta tags... site works flawlessly now.

Whats strange is that this is not mentioned anywhere, as far as I know... thanks for the help!!!
