PHP beginner

Please forgive my ignorance and dont shoot me down in flames, but I was wondering what the benefit of using PHP as opposed to HTML is? 😮

Also, where and what are the best resources to learn PHP (books, online etc)

@Khalid_AliDec 19.2003 — you can use html without the use of PHP however using php for other way around will not make any sense.

PHP is an attributory server side language to display contents(HTML mostly) on clinets side.

@PunkSktBrdr01Dec 19.2003 — With PHP, you still use HTML. PHP is the programming part, which allows you to make your pages dynamic by using databases, generating images, and controlling content with if/else statements. There's a whole ton of stuff you can do with PHP. Check out:
