competitor research

Hello

Can anyone recommend an app or service that I can use to do some competitor research – basically what keywords are being bid on and how much?

There are some services out there but they all seem to want very hefty monthly fees for the service and I’m not sure I can get that much value out of it right now.

I’m not looking for free – I’m prepared to pay something – jut not this kind of money….

any pointers?
