IE Gradient Filter Destroying Text

I have a site and Im using the IE gradient filter because Im trying to be CSS3 friendly in my approach. In IE 7 & 8 any text that I have inside the DIV with the filter is being garbled. Does anyone know how to remedy this? Other than never looking at IE to start with!
