Run script after input text changes

Onblur and Onchange both have to lose focus in order to execute. I want to populate an input text value via JavaScript. Once the new value is loaded, I would like a script to run. Onchange doesn’t work.

Example,

html
<input id=’elmID’ type=’text’ value=” onchange=’script();’ />

javascript
document.getElementById(“elmID”).value = ‘some new text’;

Once my script has populated the input value, I would like a different script to execute.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

@JavaboeyauthorAug 04.2010 — For those who care, I figured it out. I just forced the onchange event. So easy, yet so easy to overlook.

html

<input id='elmID' type='text' value='' onchange='script();' />

javascript

document.getElementById("elmID").value = 'some new text';

document.getElementById("elmID").onchange();
