What is it called when a program changes daily?

Obviously I am not a programmer….so on that note plzzzzzzz go easy on me:o I want to create a program that is along the lines of a daily “thing” whether it be a daily tarot, daily symbol etc. I tired looking it up, and all I was able to find is already generated pages…but I want my own. Is this a task that is too far beyond my “not having any programming capabilities?

And it is very possible that if we know what you need, we can point you in the right direction very quickly.

I'm sorry- this whole programming thing is a little intimidating, especially having to come to a public forum to ask questions pertaining to a topic I know nothing about.

Ok, basically in a nutshell- I have a pagan social site, and I want to put on it a daily tarot card reading, and....well ok- lets start off small and say that is all I want for now, lol. So everyday when a user logs in- they will have a different tarot card for the day.

A gal from another site I am involved with sent me their sites script to add to my website- but I want something of my own that doesn't link back to anyone else.

Her script is this:

@criterion9Jul 19.2010 — #It kind of depends on how you want to do it. You can use a client-side method (like the js file you are using now) or you can use a server-side method that would allow you to set which ones come up for each day. Is it something you will want to correspond to the wheel of the year, zodiac, etc or just like a "thought of the day" type random selection?
