AJAX won’t update, what could be wrong? (Example moved from site-site)

Basically on this example

There is a list with some items and you can decide whether or not you want them to update on the fly or via a “save” button. On that particular site when I re-arrange the order and refresh the page the items are in the order I placed them in (GOOD!) not the default order.

I copy the code, use jquery’s connectSortable to create two new lists. I wanted to be able to move items between seperate lists basically.

So here is my example

I can move the items between the lists fine and it says it updated (but it did not!)

I refresh the page and the items are back to their original order ?.

What could be wrong on my servers end? Or the code changes I made?
