[RESOLVED] Regex (Currency Validation)

What is wrong with the regex syntax here?
myRegExp1 = new RegExp(/^*.d{2}$/);
if(strControlValue.match(myRegExp1))
alert(‘matches’);
else alert(‘no match’);
strControlValue is a string that has passed an isNan test (i.e. it is a number). I am aiming to accept any number of digits(including 0 digits) followed by a decimal point and two digits.
