need your help for HTML….

Hi Friends,

i am just started my study in this huge field, i have one question for HTML.
What is server side image map? & what is client side image maps?
i don’t know basic difference between this two.

@tirnaApr 20.2010 — An image map defines various hotspots on an image so that when a user hovers over a part of an image, the link associated with that part of the map is activated.

[U]A server side image map[/U] is stored on the server. When a user clicks a hotspot, the coordinates where the user clicked are sent to a program on the server which then determines which hotspot was clicked and activates the corresponding link.

[U]A client side image map [/U]performs the same function but it is all done within the user's browser locally.

I would recommend using client side image maps because they don't have to have data sent to the server as the user rolls over various parts of an image and everything is done locally.
