how to manage file in javascript

hi!
i’m studying javascript. now, i’m trying to do a simple website which allows user to register and login. could anyone give some demo about display or write or check file in javascipt? ?

@KorApr 12.2010 — This is not to be done in JavaScript(as JavaScript is a client-side language). You should use a server-side language and a data base to perform a secure user/pass login application.
