IE6 identifies itself as 7(?!), conditional code not working, help

Hi Everyone, this is my first post here.

The conditional code i’m writing for IE6 is not working at all. Instead it reads the ‘if IE7’ conditional code. (This verison of IE6 came from Multiple IE’s). When looking at the ‘Help/About Internet Explorer’ info, it indeed says it is verion 7.0.5.., my version IE7, identifies itself as the same.

does anyone know why that is?, and does this have anything to do with the fact that it came from multiple IE’s?

But…. this IE6 DOES renders pages differently from IE7 though they identify themselves as the same.

this is making it very difficult to code a page for IE6, very frustrating. any help would be appreciated.

have a great day,

Tom

You might try Internet Explorer Collection where it does appear to work correctly.
