Query String Urls

Hi guys,

I have always been of the understanding that Google was one of the few search engines to index query string urls

eg. mywebsite.com/index.php?page=mypage&myvariable=100

as opposed to SEF urls.

eg. mywebsite.com/mypage/100

Is this still the case? or does Bing and Yahoo index them as well now?

@Jarrod1937Mar 19.2010 — Be careful, google can choose whether or not it wishes to ignore a given parameter, other search engines do the same. This can lead to your query string being ignored. SEO friendly url's are good for search engines in that the url doesn't appear to have any parameters, and as such none that the search engine can ignore. SEO friendly url's can also be more appealing to users.
